Dr. de Almeida has practiced medicine in Palm Beach County since 2005. He graduated from Medical school at the Universidade Federal da Bahia, in Brazil. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Infectious Disease
Fellowship at Northwestern University Medical School, and a research Fellowship at the Laboratory of Clinical Investigation at the NIAID/NIH in Washington. His practice encompasses
Internal Medicine, where he provides Primary and Preventive care, Infectious Disease consultative care, and Travelers Medical Services for individuals traveling overseas and/or returning home with travel-related medical issues. His academic and clinical experience includes Assistant Clinical Professorships at both Drexel University College of Medicine and the University of Miami Miller’s School of Medicine. He is the coordinator of the Infectious Disease Rotation for the Internal Medicine Residency program at
JFK Medical Center, where he has been recognized by the medical residents as an outstanding educator. He has also been involved in the Internal Medicine Residency at Wellington Regional
Medical Center and chosen as the Attending of the Year in 2014. Dr. de Almeida is double Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. He is a member of the medical staff of Good Samaritan Medical Center and Chairman of the Infection Control Committee at JFK Medical Center. He also serves as a board member on the Palm Beach
County Medical Society. As both a practitioner and promoter of holistic care which integrates the mind and body, Dr. de Almeida believes that good physicians are able to influence their patients towards a better lifestyle by emphasizing preventive measures-but are ready and prepared to help them in moments of a
health crisis.
